Zahed joined Fieldstone in 2012 and has over 15 years’ experience in Investment Banking experience in Infrastructure, Telecommunications, Mining and Oil and Gas sectors, with a specific focus on cross border Project Finance transaction. Certain transactions concluded by Zahed and his colleagues were awarded International Project Finance Deal of the Year (2006), African Infrastructure Deal of the Year (2007) and EMEA Telecommunications Deal of the Year (2008). His most recent Southern African experience includes: advising Total New Energie Developpment on equity and debt financing on a 75 MW PV plant, Mulilo-Longyuan for their 2 Wind farms (combined 244 MW) and Ilangalethu for their 100 MW CSP plant. He is also currently advising on 4 X 75 MW PV plant, 1 x 144 MW Wind farm and 100 MW CSP, plant for Round 4 of the REIPPP program. Prior to joining Fieldstone, Zahed was the Lead Principal of New Business for Nedbank Capital’s Infrastructure, Energy and Telecommunications and was responsible for project finance in the Oil & Gas, Agribusiness, Industrial and African Property sectors. Zahed has previously held the positions of Head of turnkey systems for Biwater and Acting Head of Credit Risk and Underwriting at the Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa. He has a BSc degree in Engineering from Wits University as well as a MBA degree with distinction from Milpark Business School.
