Bio

Yasunobu Kawahara joined HarbourVest in 2021 and focuses on investor relationship in Japan. Yasunobu has 20+ years of financial experiences across banks, consulting firms and asset management companies. Yasunobu joined the Firm from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he served as a Director of Asset Management Distribution team. His responsibilities included investor and consultant relations, originating and executing transactions across a variety of alternative strategies. Most recently he was Head of Asset Management Products Japan and led the firm’s product specialist team. His prior experience includes Director of Sales and Product Development role at Japan Alternative Investment, and as a Pension Consultant at Watson Wyatt (Willis Towers Watson). He began his career as a banker in Sumitomo Banking Corporation (SMBC). Yasunobu received Bachelor of Law from Waseda University. He is a native Japanese speaker.
