S. Scott Parel is a co-leader of the firm’s Private Equity practice and heads the corporate department of the Dallas office. Scott handles complex corporate and transactional matters for clients in the healthcare, technology, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure and professional services industries. He has significant experience advising both domestic and international private and pension fund sponsors as well as corporate clients in connection with leveraged acquisitions, minority investments, divestitures, joint ventures and restructurings. Scott has been selected as a “Best Lawyer” in Corporate Law by The Best Lawyers in America from 2016 to 2020. Additionally, he was ranked by Chambers USA for Corporate/M&A (Texas) from 2014-2017. The 2017 guide described him as “an extremely practical lawyer who really gets the business side of things and knows the market.” Scott is also recognized by IFLR1000 as “Highly Regarded” in Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions in the United States.
