William (Bill) shares the management and control of the Firm’s affairs. Bill currently serves as chairman of Anser Advisory, Aurora Parts & Accessories and Belnick. Bill was formerly chairman of Power Stop and Service Logic, co-chairman of Lazer Spot, and is a former director of Aavid Thermal Technologies, The CBORD Group, FCX Performance, GPX International Tire, The Kenan Advantage Group, Marcone, The Parts Plus Group, Survey Sampling International, Tidewater Holdings, U.S. Shipping Partners, and Shape Technology. Prior to Sterling, Bill was a managing director and the head of U.S. corporate finance at the Asian Oceanic Group, a Hong Kong-based merchant bank. Previously, Bill was a managing director in the M&A Group of Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. Prior to that, Bill was an associate at Holme Roberts & Owen and an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. Bill earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a J.D. degree from Yale Law School.
