J.J. is a Partner with Broadwing Capital focusing on Operations. With more than 20 years of direct investing experience in lower middle market companies, J.J. engages the Broadwing Resource Group and Operators Advisory Council to enhance company performance. As an investor and operator of privately held businesses since 2001, J.J. brings tremendous experience in collaborating with management teams to implement the Broadwing Capital Playbook. Before joining Broadwing in 2022, J.J. was a Partner at Elm Creek Partners, an independent sponsor focused on control investments. Prior to Elm Creek, J.J. worked in various private capacities as an advisor and operating partner to family offices and private equity firms. His career has primarily focused on manufacturing, natural resources, building products and distribution companies. A lifelong carpenter, J.J. started his professional career as a log homebuilder in Colorado. Before working with privately held companies, J.J. was a channel manager for the Stanley Works. As a Six Sigma Black Belt, J.J. focused on manufacturing and marketing mechanic’s tools globally. J.J. holds a degree in Letters and a minor in Spanish from the University of Oklahoma, and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. J.J. is a member of the Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leaders program at Texas A&M University.
