Lanny Martin founded Platte River Equity in 2006 after serving as CEO of three publicly-held industrial companies for 18 years. Lanny was Chairman and CEO of Titanium Metals Corporation (TIMET) (formerly NYSE: TIE). In addition, Lanny was CEO of NL Industries, Inc., a specialty chemical producer, and Baroid Corporation, a diversified oilfield service business, which is now part of Halliburton. Prior to NL Industries, Inc., he was a partner of the Kirkland & Ellis law firm. Lanny is a founding director and Chairman of the Board of Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE: CCI), the largest owner and operator of U.S. wireless communication sites. He also previously served as the lead director of Apartment Investment Management Company (NYSE: AIV) and as a director of Intrepid Potash (NYSE: IPI). Lanny formerly served as lead director of the Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL). Lanny is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Northwestern University and Chairman of the Board of the Denver Art Museum. Lanny holds a J.D. degree, cum laude, from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and a B.S. in Business Administration from Northwestern University. He served in the U.S. Army and was born in Grand Island, Nebraska, which is situated on the north bank of the Platte River.
