“THE SALE THAT NEVER END” FOR THE BRICK AD CAMPAIGN

When it was time to secure the publishing rights of “The Song That Never End” for their client (The Brick), KO Group LTD came to us. MFP acted as an agent and liaise between rights holders of the copyright of the song and the director of this project and negotiated for them a cost for the rights that satisfied both parties. The creative concept of the TV ad campaign was to use the classic song and create a parody song by changing the lyrics to “The Sales That Never end”. The original is a self-referential and infinitely iterative children’s song. The song appears in an album by puppeteer Shari Lewis titled Lamb Chop’s Sing-Along).

When it was time for ad agency Hogarth Worldwide to find a track for their new ad campaign they selected one from our own label.

Safe song for the “Safe with Sunwing” Campaign

Once against, when Sunwing Vacations wanted a specific song for their new “Safe with Sunwing” ad campaign they called MFP. During this pandemic it’s important for a company like Sunwing to let their clients know that they are taking all the security measures to make sure that everything run smoothly when they are back in business. So “Safe & Sound” by Capital Cities was the perfect song to get the message across. Once again the timeline to get the synch licenses (Publishing and the Master rights) was very short! We were able to reach the right parties, negotiate the price for both synch rights and make sure that both parties were happy. All this within 5 business days!

SUNWING CANADA Select a Song from MFP

Sunwing Canada, North America’s largest vertically integrated travel company, contacted Music For Productions once again to help with music for their new ad campaign “Sunwing Vacation Better 2.0”
When Sunwing contacted us we had one month to work with them. First, like several times before, they hired us for our copyrights clearance services. We had one month to negotiate for them the synch rights of a “popular”song to place in the new Sunwing ad campaign. After learning about the direction of the main spot they suggested to us several songs. One was a Prince song from his old catalog. As expected, when MFP contacted the label to inquired about the synch fees etc. they right away told us 1- A prince song is very difficult to license 2- The time limit of one month was too short to start negotiating with Prince’s family estate. The second popular song suggested was good but the price was way too expensive. That is when MFP went to work and looked in their own catalog to try to find the perfect song for them at an affordable price.

The creative originally was based on the tagline “Let’s Go”. But MFP suggested for a sunny destination the theme “Let Go” instead. After they agreed we found in our catalog the perfect song!. The title is ‘Let Go” and the composers are Pete Masiti – John Andrew Barrow. The song is from the Dark Horse (Vocal) label on the “Premium Playlist” album from the USA Atomica Music catalog. An excellent catalog that we represent exclusively in Canada. The catchy hook of “Let Go” was just perfect for their 15 seconds spots. The only work left was to make sure that the Sunwing jingle at the end of the spot was integrated properly with the song. It was easy work for our composer/arranger Chris Horvath. Why was it so easy for Chris? Because Chris actually wrote, played and produce the Sunwing jingle. It was a great pleasure to work with Sunwing and Chris once again.

Once the ads were ready to go live we received a nice email message from creative director Regan Baird at Sunwing to let us know how they appreciated our work.
